AFL Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP) Updates
Former North Melbourne player Flynn Perez is reportedly well-positioned to secure a spot in the AFL during the pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP). Perez, who played 24 games for North Melbourne between 2020 and 2023, has been training with Hawthorn.
Perez has been impressing during sessions and match simulations with Hawthorn, and the SSP deadline has been extended to March 2.
Hawthorn is also evaluating Ethan Stanley and Jack Riding for list spots. Perez has garnered interest from other clubs following two seasons with Sturt in the SANFL.
Reports indicate that Perez has been highly impressive since early December. While Hawthorn has two open spots and is not committed to filling both, Perez is considered a strong candidate for a return to AFL level.
Other clubs have also monitored his progress, suggesting he is likely to join an AFL list, potentially with Hawthorn, North Melbourne, or Adelaide.

Port Adelaide has two open list spots, with Jaidyn Stephenson among four players undergoing trials. Balyn O'Brien, a medium defender, is considered a good prospect, with other clubs also showing interest in him for a potential mid-season pick.
