Olympic Figure Skating Team Event: Chock and Bates Lead Ice Dance

The ice dance segment initiated the next phase of the Olympic figure skating team event. Madison Chock and Evan Bates maintained Team USA's lead, performing their "Paint it, Black" free dance.

Team USA Maintains Lead

Chock and Bates achieved a season's best score of 133.23 points. They are three-time world champions and seven-time U.S. national champions.

Their performance occurred ahead of the individual ice dance event, where they are considered contenders for the gold medal.

French skaters Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron are also anticipated to compete in the individual event.

Italy Places Second

Italy's Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri placed second with a score of 124.22, contributing nine team points. Guignard and Fabbri are competing in their fourth Olympics.

They secured a European Championship silver medal last month, following a fourth-place finish at the 2025 World Figure Skating Championships in March. Their free dance was performed to music from the Italian film "Diamanti."

Canada Takes Third

The Canadian team of Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha finished third with 120.90 points, earning eight points. They competed as a substitute for Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier.
