Prime Minister Ardern's Statement on Brenton Tarrant Sentencing

In August 2020, during the sentencing of Brenton Tarrant, then-Prime Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, issued a statement regarding the verdict.

She asserted that life imprisonment without parole would ensure Tarrant would have "no notoriety, no platform... and we have no cause to think about him, to see him or to hear from him again."
