Terrance Gore, a baseball player recognized for his speed and contributions to three championship teams, passed away Friday at the age of 34, as announced by the Kansas City Royals.
Gore was drafted by the Royals organization in 2011 from Gulf Coast State College and made his Major League Baseball debut in September 2014. Throughout his career, he frequently moved between the major and minor leagues and played for teams including the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs.
His exceptional speed made him a significant asset as a pinch runner in critical late-inning games.
He was a member of three World Series-winning teams: the 2015 Kansas City Royals, the 2020 Los Angeles Dodgers, and the 2021 Atlanta Braves.
Born in Macon, Georgia, Gore participated in 112 regular season games over eight seasons. The Dodgers added him to their roster in September 2020 prior to a National League Wild Card Series.
