Shopping Complex Engulfed in Flames
Emergency services were called to the Warrina Shopping Complex on Bayswater Road in Currajong at 4 AM. Firefighters arrived to find three shops engulfed in flames.
Crews battled the intense blaze for over 90 minutes. The fire briefly re-ignited before 7 AM but was quickly brought under control by firefighters. The fire department will coordinate closely with police regarding the cause of the fire.
Gym Targeted by Gunshots
Approximately at the same time as the shopping complex fire, police responded to reports of gunshots fired into the One Million Strong gym on Woolcock Street in Mount Louisa.
Crucially, no injuries were reported in either the gym shooting or the shopping complex fire.
Burnt-Out Vehicle Discovered
Adding to the overnight incidents, a burnt-out car was also found in Black River, located in the city's north.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are actively investigating potential links between these incidents. Police have issued a public appeal, requesting that any witnesses or community members with relevant dash cam footage come forward to assist with their inquiries.
