Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama has stated her readiness to communicate with financial markets on Monday, if required. This announcement follows Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's election victory.

"I am ready to communicate with financial markets on Monday, if required," stated Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama.

During Sunday's television appearances, as election results were being finalized, Katayama confirmed she maintains close contact with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. She noted that she shares responsibility with Bessent for ensuring stability in the dollar-yen currency movements.
