YouTube Music Limits Lyrics for Free Accounts
Free YouTube Music accounts are reportedly experiencing limited access to song lyrics. This change appears to be a wider rollout following tests initiated by Google in September, which aimed to make lyrics an exclusive feature for Premium subscribers.
Free users are now restricted to viewing lyrics for five songs per month. After this limit is reached, only the initial lines of a song's lyrics will be visible, with the remainder blurred out.
Users will then be prompted to subscribe to "Unlock lyrics with Premium."
A banner message indicating the remaining lyric views is displayed when the lyrics tab is opened.
