Remedy Entertainment Appoints Jean-Charles Gaudechon as New CEO
Remedy Entertainment has announced the appointment of Jean-Charles Gaudechon as its next Chief Executive Officer, with his official tenure set to begin on March 1, 2026. Co-founder Markus Mäki will serve as interim CEO until Gaudechon assumes the role. Gaudechon will relocate to Finland with his family as part of his new position.
Leadership Transition Details
The appointment follows the departure of former CEO Tero Virtala in October 2025 after nearly a decade, which led to the search for a permanent successor. Markus Mäki, a co-founder of the studio, will oversee operations as interim CEO until Gaudechon officially takes the helm in March 2026.
Jean-Charles Gaudechon: A Gaming Industry Veteran
Gaudechon brings an extensive background in executive roles within the gaming industry. He spent over 15 years at Electronic Arts (EA) across two separate periods. His responsibilities at EA included profit and loss oversight for the company's operations in Asia, and serving as a studio head and executive producer at EA's free-to-play studio in Stockholm. During his time at EA, he was involved in live-service operations for titles such as FIFA Mobile and Battlefield Heroes.
Additionally, Gaudechon held positions as general manager and executive producer at CCP Games. This included a role as an executive producer from 2013 to 2018, and as general manager and executive producer at CCP Games' studio in Shanghai, China.

Regarding his upcoming role, Gaudechon has stated his commitment to protecting Remedy's creative identity, delivering games, and scaling the company while maintaining its independence.
"He also expressed an intention to strengthen relationships with players and partners, build lasting value, and ensure Remedy maintains a close relationship with players to earn their time and trust in game development and publishing."
Upcoming Projects
Remedy Entertainment is scheduled to release 'Control Resonant,' a follow-up to its 2019 title 'Control,' later this year.
