Caleb Serong Signs Landmark Extension with Fremantle Until 2034

Fremantle Football Club has announced a significant contract extension for star midfielder Caleb Serong. Serong, whose previous contract was set to expire at the end of 2027, has signed a new agreement that commits him to the Dockers until the end of the 2034 season.

The new agreement, which adds an additional seven years to his tenure, represents the largest deal in the club's history.

This extension places Serong among the longest-signed players in the AFL, alongside Melbourne's Kysaiah Pickett.

A Historic Commitment

Serong's commitment means he will remain with the Dockers for another decade. The extension secures him for the club until the end of the 2034 season.

The 24-year-old would have become a free agent in 2027 and was considered a significant target for Tasmania as it prepares to enter the competition.

An Established Star

Serong was selected as the No. 8 pick in the 2019 draft from Gippsland Power. He has since become a cornerstone of Fremantle's midfield.

He has received the club's past three best and fairest awards and has been an All-Australian selection in those same years. This remarkable achievement places him in elite company, as he is one of only three players, including Marcus Bontempelli and Nick Daicos, to achieve three consecutive All-Australian selections.

In 2020, Serong was awarded the prestigious AFL Rising Star. The co-vice-captain has demonstrated exceptional durability, playing in 127 out of a possible 133 games since joining Fremantle. He is scheduled to participate in Saturday's AFL Origin game for Victoria.
