During a trade deal announcement last week, President Donald Trump stated that India had committed to a trade agreement. However, this commitment was notably not included in the joint statement released by both nations.

President Trump's assertion of India's commitment to a trade agreement was conspicuously absent from the official joint statement.

In a separate executive order, President Trump also indicated that the United States would closely monitor India's direct or indirect purchases of Russian oil. This monitoring would serve as a determinant for whether a 25% import duty would be re-imposed on India.
