A tornado caused damage to over 100 homes in a residential area near Houston, Texas, authorities reported on Monday. No injuries were reported as a direct result of the incident.
Damage Overview
Damage was concentrated in the Memorial Northwest neighborhood. Images and drone footage released by the Harris County Precinct 3 constable on Facebook showed roofs with shingles removed and roads blocked by debris.
Emergency Response
The Houston Fire Department dispatched a five-member saw team. Their objective was to cut and remove toppled trees, as confirmed by spokesperson Rustin Rawlings.
Weather Advisories
Following the event, the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for southeastern Texas, including the Houston area. This watch remained active until 1:00 a.m. Tuesday. Additionally, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for various parts of southeastern Texas.
