Bahrain Pre-Season Test One Wraps Up in Sakhir
The first of two Bahrain pre-season tests has concluded, offering teams crucial data and track time ahead of the new season.
The initial session at the Sakhir venue saw an early interruption when Valtteri Bottas's Cadillac experienced a halt, prompting a red flag. Mechanics swiftly resolved the issue, allowing Bottas to rejoin the test and continue his program.
On-Track Action and Notable Milestones
Following the brief stoppage, drivers logged significant mileage. Sergio Perez, Bottas's teammate, completed more than a race distance, demonstrating the team's ability to run extensive programs. Oscar Piastri also put in a robust performance, recording over 150 laps.
Impressively, Lewis Hamilton, Franco Colapinto, and Liam Lawson each surpassed two race distances, accumulating vital data for their respective teams. This intensive running period allows engineers to gather critical information on car performance, reliability, and tire degradation.
Looking Ahead
With the first test now complete, teams will meticulously analyze the collected data. This analysis will inform adjustments and preparations for the upcoming final pre-season test.
The next and final pre-season test is scheduled for February 18-20, returning to the same Sakhir circuit in Bahrain. This last opportunity will be crucial for fine-tuning before the season officially begins.
